Best Behavior Game
Dr. Playwell's Best Behavior Game
A Send-Home Board Game
by Lawrence E. Shapiro, Ph.D.
Behavior problems account for half of all referrals to counselors, and games have proven to be one of the best ways to turn around noncompliant or oppositional kids. But it's hard to make the lessons stick when you see children only during once-a-week counseling sessions.
This unique board game solves the problem. It offers a "take-home" option that provides continuity between sessions.
In addition to a beautifully illustrated game board, four decks of cards, and a spinner, the game includes a CD.
This CD contains a copy of the board and cards, a numbers wheel, and instructions-allowing you to print out multiple copies of the game and give them to kids to use at home. Blank cards are included so that children can make up their own questions, too.
As they play, children learn to distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate behavior, recognize personal boundaries, practice self-control, communicate effectively, and develop problem-solving skills. Used at home or at school, this game helps children move toward positive behavior. For 2 to 4 players.
